As part of National Tree Week, we were delighted that the Star in Godalming let us hijack their regular quiz night to help us raise unrestricted funds for Roots for the Future. It was such a fun night brilliantly hosted by Tim the quiz master, who also cooked us a mean vegan chilli. There were very funny quiz names (perhaps too rude to share here) we were upstaged by a festively dressed cat called Amani.

Thanks to the wonderful prizes donated by our generous community, we raised over £500! This is vital unrestricted funds for our operating costs which helps us plant more trees and reach more people with our eco-therapies.

There was of course a tree round. See how many you can get – no googling before you try!
– How many trees are cut down globally each year? 15 billion, 10 billion or 5 billion?
– How many trees are planted globally each year? 15 billion, 10 billion or 5 billion?
– Which European country plants the most trees?
– Can you name the only country named after a tree?
– Many British pubs are called the Royal Oak. Which king had famously hidden from soldiers in an oak tree?
– What is a helicopter seed, the winged spinney thingy that comes off a sycamore or field maple really called?
