What’s been happening in Eashing Cemetery Community Garden and Orchard recently? Lots of lovely events!
We had a session with the local Brownies who helped plant lots of daffodils so that the garden is full of beautiful sunny flowers in the spring.
The Rainbows also joined us to plant bluebells which will create a wonderful carpet of blue visible from the road which they frequently walk past.
We are lucky to have a corporate partner in Chantries and Pewley’s whose photographer takes the most beautiful photos.
On a lovely November afternoon, Mike, Sophie and Fiona joined us to lay more pathway, plant bulbs and do a little weeding.
Saturday community days
We hold regular Saturday planting days and this one on a sunny October afternoon about 30 people showed up to help get lots more plants into the ground.
Walnut tree planting
And for the final community day of the year we had a good turnout at for the Walnut Tree Avenue planting. Twelve Walnut trees are now in the ground following last year’s planting of twelve stone fruit trees. The plan is to plant 60 fruit trees in total over five years.
